December 3, 1865 – the opening day of the Petrovsky Agricultural and Forestry Academy by order of the Government of the Russian Empire.October 27, 1865 – The Charter of the Petrovsky Agricultural and Forestry Academy was established, which was developed by the future director of the Academy, Doctor of Botany N.I. Zheleznov and Professor of Chemistry P.A. Ilyenkov.
The lectures were opened on January 25, 1866. In the great hall of the auditorium building (now the 10th academic building, the rector's office), the director of the Academy, N.I. Zheleznov, delivered a speech addressed to the first students of the academy.
In 1866, the "Regulations on the establishment and management of the farm of the Petrovsky Academy" were approved, according to which farming was to serve as a guide for students in studying the predominantly economic side of the economy.
In 1870-1871, an arboretum garden was established, in which half of all known coniferous species were represented. At the same time, fish breeding and silkwater establishments were organized, and even earlier, an apiary.
