The Moscow State Institute of Culture (until November 7, 2014 — Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, MGUKI) is a federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education providing professional training in the field of culture and art and subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It is located in the Moscow suburb of Khimki, in the Levoberezhny microdistrict.
The Institute was founded in 1913 as Library Courses within the structure of the A.L. Shanyavsky National University. Currently, he carries out educational, research, cultural and educational activities at all levels of pre-university, higher, postgraduate, secondary specialized and additional education in a wide range of humanitarian fields of knowledge.
